Personalizing Mental Health Treatment: The Role of Pharmacogenetic Testing in Medication Management

With Jennifer Convery, MScN, NP-PHC, Nurse Practitioner, EHN Guardians Gateway, and Natalle Chan, PharmD, RPh., Clinical Pharmacist, Pillcheck.

Join us on November 3, 2026, at 12 p.m. ET for an engaging discussion on the role of pharmacogenetic testing in mental health and addiction care. Pharmacogenetic testing examines genetic variations that influence how individuals metabolize and respond to medications, providing clinically relevant insights that can support more informed prescribing decisions.

In this session, we will explore how pharmacogenetic testing can be incorporated into clinical practice to support more individualized patient care. Through case-based discussions and clinical examples, participants will learn how testing may help reduce trial-and-error prescribing, improve medication tolerability, and enhance patient outcomes.

We will also examine how genetic variations can affect medication metabolism, efficacy, and adverse effects; identify clinical situations in which testing may be beneficial; and review key components of a pharmacogenetic testing report. The presenters will discuss the practical considerations, benefits, and limitations of integrating pharmacogenetic testing into mental health and addiction treatment.

Please note: This is a live webinar and will not be recorded. We encourage you to register and attend the session live.
