
Nick Halmasy -
Nick Halmasy is a Registered Psychotherapist and has been a clinician focussing on First Responders since 2015. He is also an active firefighter for his community, with 13 years of service. Outside his clinical practice, Nick created After The Call, a free mental health resource for first responders and their families, and when it was active, served as the Clinical Director for a Critical Incident Stress Management team. Nick is a research collaborator working with McMaster University and Western University on development of research-informed, app-based support for first responders. Nick has a passion for education, writing on mental health topics for first responders internationally and helped develop and consult on many Peer Support teams across the first responder and hospital sector. Nick has worked in the addictions sector, community mental health, and in the hospital setting. Prior to coming to Gateway as the clinical director, Nick was the clinical manager for Adult Outpatient mental health programs at Peterborough Regional Health Centre.
