Bringing Family-Inclusive Care Into Practice
With Lisa Delaney, Community Development Lead & Occupational Therapist, Garnet Families, and Shawn Carter, National Director, EHN Guardians Clinical Programs & Executive Director, EHN Guardians Gateway
Join us on September 17 from 12 PM to 1 PM ET for an engaging discussion on the important role families play in recovery from trauma, mental health challenges, and substance use disorders. Recovery extends beyond the individual, affecting relationships, family systems, and communities that often navigate their own experiences of change, uncertainty, and growth throughout the healing journey.
In this session, we will explore how family-inclusive approaches can strengthen clinical care and support better outcomes for first responders, public safety personnel, military members, Veterans, and their loved ones. Participants will gain insight into the experiences of families during treatment and recovery, as well as the importance of considering family context when supporting those impacted by occupational stress and trauma.
We will also introduce PSPNET Families and the PSPNET Families Guidebook, evidence-informed resources designed to help clinicians better understand family experiences, enhance conversations about recovery, and connect families with practical supports that promote communication, understanding, and well-being.
